Can I participate in both AIQ and State Quota counseling simultaneously?] +
Yes, candidates can participate in both AIQ and State counseling. For Government seats, you are eligible for AIQ (15% for UG / 50% for PG) and your respective home State counseling. For Private colleges, you can also apply to other "Open States" that allow candidates from across India to participate in their open quota seats.
How many rounds are conducted in AIQ and State counseling? +
Usually, there are *four main rounds for both NEET UG and PG: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 (Mop-up), and the Stray Vacancy Round. If seats remain vacant after these rounds, a Special Stray Vacancy Round may also be conducted at the discretion of the authorities.
Up to which round can I upgrade my seat? +
Candidates can opt for seat upgradation up to Round 3. During this round, seats against 'Clear Vacancies' are filled. It is important to note that if a student has already secured and joined a seat by the end of Round 3, they are generally not eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.

There are two types of fees required for both State and AIQ counseling: 1. Counseling Registration Fee: This is a non-refundable administrative fee. 2. Security Deposit: This is a refundable amount (subject to counseling rules). Refund Policy: If eligible, the security deposit is refunded to the *original source account* within 15–20 days after the entire counseling process concludes.
Is it mandatory to join a seat allotted in the Stray Vacancy Round? +
Yes, joining is mandatory in the Stray Vacancy Round. If a candidate is allotted a seat and fails to join, their Security Deposit will be forfeited, and they may face debarment from future exams/counseling as per the latest MCC/State guidelines
